Wholesaler Matthew Clark is seeing a reported 2.4% growth in cider volume as the signal to launch a new Cider House Collection of brands.

Introducing the collection to the trade, the company says: “Consumers are being driven to this category through draught fruit and premium ciders as they explore new flavours and styles.”

It has boosted its range by adding the likes of the Cotswold Cider Company, SXOLLIE and Kentish Pip.

Among the facts Matthew Clark’s reserach has revealed is the curious statistic that cider is almost four times more valuable to the UK on-trade than Champagne.

It has found that 47% of cider drinkers are female, that 24% of UK consumers regularly drink cider, and that 71% of all cider sold is draught cider.
