Somerset cider maker Sheppy’s has launched Low Alcohol Classic Cider, as the sector for low- and no-alcohol drinks continues to grow.
It has the same flavour profile as Sheppy’s traditional cider, but with less alcohol — 0.5% ABV. It is made with a carefully selected blend of Somerset’s finest traditional and dessert cider apples and is designed to be just as enjoyable as Sheppy’s award-winning Classic Draught Cider.
David Sheppy, master of cider at Sheppy’s, said: “Our Low Alcohol Classic Cider offers all our craft credentials: flavour and excellent quality, just with a low ABV.
“I have spent hours perfecting this recipe to ensure that it stays true to our traditional craft cider roots — and meets the low-alcohol trend.”
Meanwhile, Sheppy’s has announced its earliest harvest ever, thanks to one of the hottest summers on record.
During this busiest time on the farm, David Sheppy and his team harvest 90 acres of organic cider apple orchards where some trees are more than 100 years old.
He continues to champion the same traditional methods as the five generations of Sheppy family did before him, using rare crafting skills to produce the Sheppy’s range of ciders.
